The University of Reading Malaysia’s (UoRM) contribution to the social, environment and technological advancement of Medini has been recognised through the presentation of a prestigious Growth Catalyst Innovation Award.
Presented on 16 January 2017 during the Medini CEO Forum 2017 at Puteri Harbour, Iskandar, UoRM was one of three recipients of the award and the only educational awardee.
The award was presented to the University for trailblazing two “Shared-Value Strategy” projects being delivered by academics from Henley Business School at UoRM in collaboration with Medini Iskandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd:
- A new ‘Parklet’ Initiative, whereby underused spaces will be rejuvenated to encourage social interaction and promote the well-being of the community. The project will be delivered in Business District M6 and M7, Medini Iskandar Zone B.
- A Business Incubation Project, which aims to build a business ecosystem to benefit start-up companies, stimulate regional business growth and enhance economic returns. Academics and alumni from Henley Business School will act as mentors to the new businesses, while Medini will offer affordable, flexible office space to encourage collaboration and creativity.
