See Lian Ong | Quantity Surveying B.Sc. (Hons.), 1974

The University of Reading provided Mr Ong with a curriculum that has made him one of the most distinguished experts in the field of quantity surveying. After his graduation, Mr Ong’s 38 year career has seen him contributing immensely in both the Private and Public Sector. Mr Ong has also served as the Chairman of The Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors, President of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia and in 2011, Mr Ong was inaugurated as the 130th President of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the first non-British passport holding President in its 143 years of history.

Puti Mazura Mashudi - LLM Law,  University of Reading Alumni

Puti Mazura Mashudi | Law LLM, 1996

A legal counsel with a highly regarded ship building company, Ms Mashudi graduated from the Master of Laws programme with The University of Reading, majoring in construction and medical law. Ms Mashudi graduated with her law degree and was called to the bar in England in 1994. She has been serving as a legal counsel in her company for the past 17 years, where her unique array of legal skills has held her in high regard in the ship building industry.

Dr Miicent Danker, DBA Henley Business School - University of Reading Alumni

Dr Danker was involved with Henley Business School for a vast period, having started out as a research associate, investigating corporate transparency issues. A renowned communications counsellor and public affairs strategist, Dr Danker had a 25-year experience as a consultant, having worked for international firms such as Burson-Marsteller. Until her recent untimely death, Dr Danker ran Perception Management International, a boutique consultancy in Malaysia and MENTOR Communications Resources, a communication-skills coaching organisation.

Ashik Karania - Mpharm, University of Reading Alumni

Having recently graduated from The University of Reading with a Masters in Pharmacy, Mr Karania was attracted to the programme due not just to the academic excellence that the University of Reading had to offer, but also to the social life and scenic ambience. Mr Karania is currently pursuing his aspirations of being a fully qualified pharmacist and wants to explore the research areas of the pharmaceutical industry.

Constance Leung -  Land Management MSc Graduate from University of Reading

Ms Leung graduated from the Land Management MSc program from the University of Reading in 2002. Since then, she has risen in her career where she is today an associate director at DTZ Consulting in Singapore. Through the programme, Ms Leung was also accredited by RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) and The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).

Gracia Stefani, BSc Food Sciences - University of Reading Alumni

Ms Stefani recently graduated from The University of Reading’s Food Sciences BSc program where she credits the course as an exciting journey. Ms Stefani holds the programme in high regard due to the professionalism of the staff at The University of Reading along with the enriching student life. She intends to help out with the family business upon completion of her programme.

Jane Perera - Plant Sciences, University of Reading Alumni

Jane Perera | Plant Sciences, 1999

Ms Perera graduated with an Honours Degree from the University of Reading. Today, she is the director of business development for a specialist medical centre in Malaysia. She focuses on medical tourism, where she credits the university with giving her a solid foundation and yet practical approach to her current position. Ms Perera has worked in various private sector companies in both Malaysia and Sri Lanka.

Mr Perera is today, a principal consultant with a global actuarial and management consultancy, where he heads the Kuala Lumpur office for his organisation. Mr Perera particularly enjoyed the social life that the University of Reading had to offer – he was a member of the tennis, kick-boxing and Volkswagen Beetle club. Whilst studying for his degree at the university, Mr Perera also gained membership in the prestigious Institute of Actuaries UK, as a student member.

Kee Liang Chin - BSc Land Management, University of Reading Alumni

Kee Liang Chin | BSc Land Management 1987 and MBA 1999

Mr Chin is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. He majored in the Land Management BSc and proceeded to pursue his MBA with the University of Reading. He is friends with Jonathan Large and Andrew Burleigh, whom he studied with at university. Mr Chin advocates the University of Reading as he believes in the progressive culture, along with learning from some of the industry’s top experts. Mr Chin has actively supported the marketing arm of the Malaysian campus and is today a Lecturer in Real Estate at Henley Business School at the University of Reading Malaysia.

Swaleh Ouma - LLB Law - University of Reading Alumni

Swaleh Ouma | LLB Law, 2012

Mr Ouma is from Kenya and runs a company with his fellow students from the University of Reading. While at university, Mr Ouma was the president of Reading University Model United Nations Society. Today, he is the Chairman of the Mombasa Youth Network which is a Community Based Organisation in Kenya. He is also the Youth Minister for Lands at Mombasa Youth Parliament, an NGO that promotes youth interests.
