National Higher Education Fund: Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN)

The University of Reading Malaysia is listed as one of the approved institutions for the PTPTN Education Financing Scheme. Individuals pursuing studies at the University of Reading Malaysia are eligible to apply to the National Higher Education Fund: Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) for partial funding towards their course fees and living costs.

Loan eligibility
To be eligible to receive the PTPTN loan, applicants must:

• Be a Malaysian citizen, pursuing a full time undergraduate programme at the University of Reading Malaysia.
• Not receive any financial assistance from other funds/bodies.

Loan disbursement

• Funds will be transferred directly to the University of Reading Malaysia’s account, as part of their tuition fee payments.
• Payments by the PTPTN will be made once during the academic year.
• The payment will be released only after PTPTN receives the completed agreements required.

Loan repayments

• Repayments will commence six months after completion of studies or after securing a job, whichever is earlier.

How to apply: online application

• Log on to http://www.ptptn.gov.my/gateway/ for online application.
• Please note that all applicants need to open an account at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) (any branch) and purchase a PTPTN Number. The PTPTN Number is only valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.
• PTPTN will notify you via email otherwise log onto http://www.ptptn.gov.my/gateway/ to check your application status.
