TikTok Video Competition

University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM) invites students to submit a Tik Tok Video Competition. The competition is open to all International Foundation Programme students from the September 2022/23 cohort.

 

TikTok Video Competition Guidelines

 

How to enter

  1. Create an original TikTok video (between 1 to 3 minutes) about a day in the life of a university student.
  2. Post your video on TikTok by tagging @uniofreadingmalaysia with the following hashtags: #foundation #adayinthelife
  3. Ensure your TikTok account is public
  4. Submit a copy of your TikTok video to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

 

Posting period: 26 September – 15 October 2022

Submission deadline: 22 October 2022

 

There will be no charges for the competition. Submission of the competition will be taken to mean acceptance of the Competition rules and the Terms and Conditions.

 

General Rules

Below are the guidelines:

  • The competition is open to all International Foundation Programme students from the September 2022/23 cohort.
  •  One student can only submit one video. Any submissions beyond the submission deadline will not be accepted.
  •  Videos to be done in English Language.
  •  Participants must use appropriate sounds and/or music with appropriate skit/dance/appearance to the submitted videos. Competition submissions must not include any endorsements of products or services, or any obscene, violent, racist or defamatory content. Incomplete entries or entries that do not comply with the formal specifications will be automatically disqualified.

Technical requirements

The submitted video clip must be 1-3 minutes in length, in HD resolution (1080p and 720p) in .MP4 or .MOV or .WMA or .QT format. Submissions exceeding 3 mins may be disqualified. Videos must be uploaded as one single file in the highest quality. Video can be in the format below:

  • Documentary
  • Cinematography
  • Vlog
  • Story-based
  • Montage
  • Freestyle-based

 

Participants can use their own recording device (mobile phone or camcorder).

 

Judging criteria

The judges will look for a creative, engaging and inspiring submission and relevant to the competition topic.

 

Your entry will be judged on:

  • Relevance of your entry to the competition topic;
  • Transitions/effects;
  • Originality;
  • Visual appeal.

 

The organisers and judges reserve the right to remove any entries from the competition that they feel may breach any of the Competition rules, the Terms and Conditions or may bring the competition into disrepute. Such entries will be disqualified.

 

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to the most creative and inspiring videos as follows:

  • 1st Prize : RM 200 Shopping Voucher
  • 2nd Prize : RM 100 Shopping Voucher
  • 3rd Prize: RM 50 Shopping Voucher
  • Consolation Prizes : UoRM Branded Mug

 

 

Copyrights

The copyright of the materials submitted for this competition remains with respective participants and by participating in this competition, it is agreed that participants have granted the University of Reading Malaysia a licence to use material(s) contributed for educational and/or marketing purposes via web-based and other digital/print methods. In the event that any materials supplied by the participants contain the work of third-party individuals or organisations, it is understood that it is the participants’ responsibility to secure the relevant permissions and/or licences. The University will not be held responsible for any individual’s failure to obtain copyright clearance prior to the submission of the competition.
