University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM) invites students to submit a thank you video to the teachers who have worked hard to support them during the global pandemic. 

Categories

The competition is open to two categories of students:

• Category A – Secondary level students, studying SPM, IGCSE or equivalent.
• Category B – Pre-university students, study UEC, A-level, STPM, university foundation or equivalent.

 Prizes!

 Prizes* will be awarded to the most creative and inspiring videos as follows:

• 1^st Prize - RM1,500 + RM3,888 Bursary for study at UoRM
• 2^nd Prize - RM1,200 + RM2,888 Bursary for study at UoRM
• 3^rd Prize - RM900 + RM1,888 Bursary for study at UoRM
• Consolation prizes given to 3 teams – RM1,888 Bursary for study at UoRM

To participate: 

• You must form a team of 3 students from the same school.

• Create your original video in English and no more than 3 minutes in duration.
• Your video should be inHD resolution (1080p and 720p), and in MP4, MOV, WMA or QT format.
• Participating teams can use their own recording device (mobile phone or camcorder).
• Your video can be in any style, such as documentary, vlog, story-based, musical or freestyle.
• The copyright of the materials submitted for this competition remains with respective participants.

 Judging Criteria

•  Submissions will be evaluated by an expert panel from the University who will look for a creative, engaging and inspiring submission and relevant to the competition topic. 
• The panel’s decision is final.

 Announcement of Winners

•  The winners will be announced at a special virtual event on 11^th July 2021 11 am-12 pm.

 General Rules

 Registration will be taken to mean acceptance of competition rules.

•  Only one video submission is allowed per team and only the first submission will be accepted. Later submissions are not allowed.  Any video submissions longer than 3 minutes in duration will be rejected.
•  Your video must be in English and no longer than 3 minutes in duration.
•  Your video must be submitted in HD resolution (1080p or 720p) in MP4, MOV, WMA or QT format.
•  Participating teams can use their own recording device (mobile phone or camcorder).
•  Video can be in the format below:
  • Documentary
  • Cinematography
  • Vlog
  • Story-based
  • Music-based
  • Montage
  • Freestyle-based
•  Your video must be original content and not impinge on copyright. Individuals appearing in the video should have given consent to appear in the video. 
•  Competition submissions must not include any endorsements of products or services, or any obscene, violent, racist, defamatory content or cruelty to animals.
• Videos considered inappropriate or offence will be disqualified. Incomplete entries or entries that do not comply with the term and conditions will be automatically disqualified.
• Winners will be notified through their school. Winners will be mentioned in the university’s social media. 
• *Cash prize will be shared equally among team members and will be distributed to the school.  A bursary letter will be given for the stated amount to each individual student and applied in the form of a discount to course fees for study at UoRM in 2021 or 2022.  The total discount to course fees, inclusive of any High Achievers Scholarship separately awarded to the individual student, shall not exceed 30% of the course fees.
