Henley Business School lecturer speaks at the inaugural AI Financial Summit APAC in Kuala Lumpur

Associate Professor in Finance at Henley Business School Malaysia, Dr Nafis Alam, spoke at the first AI Financial Summit APAC, held at Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur from 3rd – 4th April. The two-day event was organised to facilitate discussions on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the financial services industry.

During the Summit, Dr Alam discussed how AI is complementing banking and financial services. He also spoke about the role universities can play in nurturing future graduates to meet the demand of technology-led financial services. The event focussed on the transformation of financial services in light of Artificial Intelligence and FinTech.

Speakers from both industry and academia discussed the readiness of the financial sector in Asia Pacific, including Malaysia, to deal with technological advancements. The Summit was officiated by Malaysia’s Deputy Minister, Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation, Datuk Dr. Wira Abu Bakar Mohamad Diah and included speakers from HSBC Bank, E&Y Malaysia, MDEC, IBM, PWC Malaysia, MIMOS and National University of Singapore.
