Iskandar Ahmad | Foundation Lecturer in Economics, Business and Management
Iskandar is a postgraduate in Business Economics with teaching experience in Microeconomics, Statistics, Business Mathematics, and Human Resource Management. His work operates at the intersection of teaching and applied economic analysis, with a strong emphasis on quantitative reasoning and decision-making under real-world constraints.
He adopts a structured and analytical approach to teaching, focusing on translating mathematical and economic concepts into clear, accessible frameworks. His classes are designed to move beyond theoretical exposition, guiding students to apply tools such as quantitative analysis, cost modelling, and marginal reasoning in evaluating business and economic decisions.
His emerging research interests centre on wage stagnation, rising cost of living, and firm-level cost dynamics, particularly within the Malaysian context. He is especially interested in examining short-run and long-run relationships between macroeconomic pressures and micro-level decision-making using empirical and quantitative methods.
In parallel with his teaching, Iskandar is actively developing his research profile with a focus on data-driven analysis. He aims to contribute to academia through rigorous teaching, impactful research, and the development of graduates who are analytically grounded and capable of navigating complex economic and business environments.
