Purpose of workshop
The University of Reading Code of Good Practice in Research (the Code) is based upon the UK Research Integrity Office’s Code of Practice for Research (UKRIO Code). Everyone at the University has a responsibility to ensure that research is undertaken in conformity with the law, in line with funders’ contractual terms and conditions and in accordance with best current practice. This workshop will give a brief overview of the Code and set out the standards of performance and conduct expected of all those engaged in research in the University of Reading; it is applicable both to individual researchers and to the University as a whole.
Biography Dan is the Chair of the University of Reading Research Ethics Committee (UoRM REC) and has been working extensively with the UK over the past few months to generate a version of the Code for researchers at UoRM to ensure that they follow the same procedures as those working in the UK. Consequently, he is very familiar with the expectations and implications of the Code for individual researchers as well as the University as a whole. |
