Abstract
This talk is delivered a layman’s language to all who are interested in the property market, whether to rent or to buy or invest. It first covers a brief update on the overall property market in Iskandar Malaysia and the volume and value of the main property sectors. Next, the rental and price movements of the various residential, industrial and retail sectors in IM, highlighting the supply in the pipeline of such properties in the future. The projects by Chinese developers are described. This is followed by discussion on catalytic projects such as High Speed Rail, Rapid Transit System and Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex. The talk wraps up what the effects are on the real estate market, and what it means to the general public.

Biography
Wee graduated from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 1991 with a Bachelor in Surveying (Hons) (Property Management). Upon graduation, he worked with an international property consultancy firm for 5 years. He then briefly joined a public listed property developer before setting up Regroup Associates (Johor) Sdn Bhd [now CB Richard Ellis (Johor) Sdn Bhd] in 1997. He set up Landserve (Johor) Sdn Bhd in June 2013.

He is the Chairman of Association of Valuers, Property Managers, Estate Agents and Property Consultants in the Private Sector (Johor) Malaysia. Wee is also Fellow of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia and Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Throughout his 22 years’ working experience, Wee has valued an extensive range of properties, which include shopping centres, office buildings, hotels, golf courses, township developments, quarries, oil palm estates etc.

Wee was also actively involved in real estate agency and consultancy, advising multi-national and overseas clients on their real estate needs in Johor, as well as handling transactions involving mainly industrial and commercial properties.
