School of Law Digital Poster Competition

 Title - Embrace Equality by Empowering Women

Categories

  • Category A – Open Category - limited to secondary level students, studying SPM, IGCSE or equivalent & Pre-university students, studying UEC, A-level, STPM, other (non-UORM) university foundation programmes or equivalent.
  • Category B – Current UoRM (both Foundation and Undergraduate) students.

Judging Criteria

  • Submissions will be evaluated by an expert panel from the University and partner Law firms.
  • The panel’s decision is final.
  • Originality of the work will be evaluated. Plagiarised participations will be disqualified.

Announcement of Winners

  • The winners will be announced on 22nd May 2023.

Competitions guidelines

 

Digital poster Competition Guidelines

  1. Poster should be about any legal issue that fits the theme.
  2. The digital poster will be in A0 size. Participants will be provided with a poster template. The submission must be in PDF format.
  3. If multiple submissions by the same company, person or group are among the top 3 nominees for a category, only the highest scoring poster will be considered and compete for the prize.
  4. Participants should carefully critique the content and arrangement of their posters.
  5. The flow of information in the poster layout should be done in a way that easily addresses the salient points of your project.
  6. The recommended minimum font is 36.
  7. Your entry will be judged on:
    1. Relevance of your entry to the competition topic.
    2. Transitions/effects.
    3. Originality
    4. Visual appeal.
    5. Factual and legal accuracy.

 

The following are the recommended contents of the digital poster:

 

  1. The poster title (with participant’s name directly underneath). You may create your own project title to pick the reader’s attention.
  2. Introduction/Background/Abstract (a place to quickly summarize your topic and trigger your audience’s interest).
  3. Methods or Process (a place to describe your process and what led to your results)
  4. Results (the place where the results of your project are explained)
  5. Conclusions or Discussion (the place where you explain why your results are conclusive and provide the reader with a short but solid justification of your hypothesis)
  6. Infographics / Illustrations / Photo
  7. Acknowledgments sometimes replaced by Contact Information (This section is optional but if you have the room, you can use it to thank the people who helped with your project of provide your contact information)

Category A

  • 1st Prize – RM 500
  • 2nd Prize –RM 350
  • 3rd Prize - RM 150

 

Category B

  • 1st Prize - RM 500 and a legal attachment placement in partner firm.
  • 2nd Prize - RM 350 and a legal attachment placement in partner firm.
  • 3rd Prize - RM 150
