Biography

Vashnarekha Kumarasuriar graduated with an Honours degree in Psychology from University of Queensland, Australia, and obtained her Masters in Counselling from the University of South Australia in 2005. Rekha has more than 15 years of experience teaching Psychology at higher education institutions in Malaysia and Singapore.

While teaching in Singapore, she served in various academic and industry advisory committees, engaging closely with academic partners in ensuring that the curriculum is of high quality and industry relevant. Additionally, she has worked with stakeholders and regulators in designing new programmes, while serving at other private institutions in Malaysia. Over the years, she has gained expertise in developing and teaching various undergraduate Psychology modules in the areas of Developmental Psychology and Counselling Psychology. As a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Rekha is actively involved in teaching and assessment at undergraduate level. She is currently pursuing her PhD, focusing on nutrition, cognition and mental health.
