Today, the University of Reading Malaysia officially welcomed its new undergraduate students to the first ever Welcome Week at EduCity.
Professor Tony Downes, Provost, University of Reading Malaysia
“We have reached a major milestone in the university’s history. UoRM staff have been working round the clock to prepare for the students’ arrival and I am extremely proud of what we have achieved together.
“As the campus is brand new, students are arriving at the same time as staff are moving in to their new home, which has created a great deal of buzz and excitement.
“Seeing students arrive on campus and our staff begin teaching has made all the hard work worthwhile. I welcome everyone to our new campus and wish everyone success in their work and studies.”
The Welcome week programme includes:
- A welcome speech by the Provost
- Tours of the new campus and its facilities
- A session on how to make the most of the brand new Learning and Resource Centre
- A sports afternoon at EduCity Sports Complex, hosted by the current student.
- Clubs and societies showcase by current students
- A session on UoRM values and behaviours.
The current study body of 150 will study International Foundation Programme or Science or Undergraduate programmes in Business and Finance, Quantity Surveying, Real Estate or Psychology. Undergraduate programmes in Pharmacy and Law and a range of post graduate programmes, including the Henley MBA, are due to launch in 2016.
