TPr Ts Norliza Hashim

Norliza Hashim serves as Chief Executive of URBANICE Malaysia, a Centre of Excellence for Community Well-being and Urban Sustainability under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government Malaysia. She directs teams focused on implementing sustainable urbanisation policies through the Malaysia SDG Cities program and collaborative partnerships.

As an adjunct professor at two Malaysian universities—International Islamic University Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi MARA—she guides sustainable development initiatives and university planning directions.

A professional Town Planner, Norliza founded AJM Planning and Urban Design Group 32 years ago. Her practice encompasses comprehensive planning disciplines, including master plans contributing to Malaysia's development. She led experts developing the Low Carbon Cities Assessment Framework for the Ministry of Environment and Water.

Her leadership roles include: President of Malaysia Institute of Planners, Secretary General of the Eastern Regional Organisation for Planning and Housing (UN-Habitat accredited), member of the Leadership Council for Sustainable Development Solutions Network Malaysia, Fellow of Institute MASA, and Chairman of Asia Pacific Localisation Partnerships for Sustainable Cities (APLP-Cities).

Her recognitions include: Senior Technologist designation (2024), Planner of the Year (2018), Top 10 National Women Entrepreneur Award (2014), and 2022 Low Carbon City Champion for Petaling Jaya.
