TPr Saidin bin Lateh
Director of PLANMalaysia@Johor
TPr Saidin bin Lateh is the Director of PLANMalaysia@Johor. His main role is to advise the state and local governments in matters pertaining to town and country planning. He was also tasked with preparing a development plan for Johor and assisting local authorities in preparing local plans for their respective areas.
Prior to joining PLANMalaysia@Johor, he was the Director of the Legal and Regulatory Division at the Federal Town and Country Planning Department where TPr Saidin oversees the smooth implementation of the Town and Country Planning Act, 1976. Prior to that, he was Director of Development Planning and Economic Division of Kampong Bharu Development Corporation, overseeing the redevelopment programme of Kampong Bharu in Kuala Lumpur, including the planning for Saloma Link, a pedestrian link linking Kampong Bharu to Jalan Ampang and KLCC.
TPr Saidin developed the National Rural Physical Planning Policy while serving the National Physical Division as a Senior Assistant Director. He was also involved in the development planning for Selangor as Principle Senior Assistant Director at the Town and Country Planning department of Selangor. He was also tasked with development control and corporate planning for the department.
In his career, he was formerly attached to the Ministry of Housing and Local Government to establish housing and local government training institutes. His role includes planning for the campus and developing a syllabus for the training curriculum. TPr Saidin was the Director of the One Stop Centre with the Selayang municipal council to deliver government services relating to approvals in land and planning matters. His past experiences include serving as Town Planner at the Project Office and Training Officer at the Human Resources division of the Federal Town and Country Planning department. He is a board member of the Board of Town Planners and board members in several statutory bodies and committees.
