Sufian Abdullah
CEO of UEM Sunrise Berhad
Sufian Abdullah took up the mantle as CEO of UEM Sunrise Berhad on 2 February 2021, with 2023 marking his third year with the leading property developer.
With an extensive, theoretical, and technical background in architecture and urban design, he has built his career with more than 20 years of corporate experience in property development and real estate industry. Moreover, he has first-hand experience in leading innovation in several key organisations. He is also part of the Ministry of Local Government Development’s panel of experts, providing industry insights based on his in-depth knowledge of the property industry.
Prior to UEM Sunrise, he was formerly the CEO of KWEST Sdn Bhd (KWEST), a wholly owned subsidiary of Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) (KWAP) which was set up as KWAP’s prime investment platform to invest in opportunistic real estate projects.
He previously held positions in Sime Darby Property Berhad as Vice President, Product Development & Land Planning from 2013 to 2014, Head of Innovation from 2008 to 2013 and Head of Business Development from 2003 to 2007.
His current appointments and directorship in public companies include UEM Land Berhad, Sunrise Berhad, and UEM Sunrise (Aurora Melbourne Central Property Management) Pty Ltd.
He obtained both his Bachelor of Architecture (Hons) and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the Canterbury School of Architecture, Canterbury, Kent, UK.
