University of Reading Malaysia agrees partnership with AM PM Pharmacy

The University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM) and AM PM Pharmacy have today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cement their partnership and foster collaboration in the area of public health science.

UoRM has partnered with AM PM Pharmacy as both organisations share a mutual interest in the fields of research, training, development and dissemination of knowledge. Both recognise the importance of the community pharmacy working closely with parties within its field of expertise.

Students from the University will benefit from training facilities and placement opportunities given by AM PM Pharmacy, while UoRM will offer employees of AM PM Pharmacy continuous professional development.

“The University of Reading Malaysia’s School of Pharmacy is delighted to formalise our relationship with colleagues from AM PM Pharmacy,” said Dr Samantha Weston, Head of Pharmacy at UoRM. “AM PM have been enthusiastic supporters of our venture since October 2013, when we first visited Malaysia and began cementing friendships that contributed to the development of our MPharm 2+2 programme. These friendships will continue to support and nurture the growth and education of our future pharmacists, right here in Malaysia. The staff and students of UoRM’s School of Pharmacy would like to extend our extreme gratitude and thanks to AM PM Pharmacy for all their help and support over the years and look forward to a successful future together.”

The University of Reading Malaysia believes the agreement sets the ground for longer-term university-community pharmacy partnerships.
