The workshop will touch briefly on general understanding intellectual property (IP) rights, ownership of IPs and discuss on issues with regard to the types of IPs commonly produced by researchers in the fields of social and soft sciences. It will also explain on the process researchers need to take to protect their IPs at UoRM. Since Intellectual Property exploitation is generally used to refer to the commercial exploitation of intellectual property rights once they have been established, participants will be exposed on ways of capitalising IP rights, for monetary or non-monetary benefit.
